Our method
A number is only useful with its context.
How SwedenMetrics defines, checks and presents open statistics.
Curated metrics
Each metric is explicitly mapped to a source table and exact dimension codes, with a definition, unit and configured checks.
Checks before publication
An update is published only when its configured checks pass. These may check ranges, freshness, sums, rates or a second source. Not every metric has every check.
When an update fails
We retain the last published figures and mark them as older checked data. A metric with no published figures is unavailable.
The open-table layer
The wider database can be queried with an explicit selection. Generic checks test a table's availability, values and structure; they do not confirm the statistical meaning of your selection. Results carry the table's check status.
What checks cannot promise
Checks help catch mistakes; they do not prove that a publisher's data is error-free. Survey estimates may have uncertainty, data may be revised, and measures may differ. Read the note next to each answer.
We process open data from SCB, Eurostat and other named publishers. Our checks are our own; we do not claim publisher endorsement.
